Town & Country Philanthropy Summit

October 26, 2022

Evidence of Hope:
Finding New Paths Forward

Town & Country has a long history of commitment to philanthropy. For nearly 175 years, the magazine has covered a world in which giving back is an essential part of living well. But that doesn’t mean we’re stuck in the past. Our annual philanthropy issue and summit consistently cover what it means to be on the cutting edge of modern day giving – and are known for gathering the greatest minds from politics, business, and the arts for high level discourse on how to change an ever-changing world. Town & Country might be the nation’s longest continuously published magazine, but with our philanthropy coverage, we’re putting our history to use in service of tomorrow.

Featuring José Andrés, Phil Donahue, Andreas Dracopoulos, Hugh Evans, Maria Manuela Goyanes, Taraji P. Henson, Stacy-Marie Ishmael, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Soledad O’Brien, Congressman Jamie Raskin, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Joe Scarborough, Helen Shaw, Marlo Thomas, Pharrell Williams, and more.

“Extreme poverty is a $350 billion per year challenge. It can’t be addressed with a water well here and a black tie dinner there.”
- Hugh Evans, CEO + Co-Founder, Global Citizen

Chantecaille

For over 20 years, Chantecaille has pioneered a luxurious standard in the world of botanical skincare and cosmetics. Founder and CEO Sylvie Chantecaille’s belief in the healing power of plants informs the company’s scientifically innovative approach and its growth into a global brand. Sylvie’s passion for nature also fuels Chantecaille’s philanthropy platform. In 2006, the Monarch butterflies in her garden inspired her to create an eyeshadow to support conservationists working to protect them. Since then, Chantecaille has launched 29 collections benefitting causes from oceans and forests to bees, elephants, and wild horses, giving a voice to some of the planet’s most urgent environmental needs.

Chantecaille's limited-edition Summer Lip Veil benefits Elephant Family, an NGO that protects Asian elephants in their habitat. Shop to support the cause here.

Switzerland Tourism

Switzerland is a unique destination where visitors can explore four cultures all in one place: German, French, Italian, and Romansh. Switzerland residents lead a sustainable lifestyle and promote their sustainability commitment to all visitors. For example, all Swiss regions are easily accessible by train thanks to Swiss National Railways, which generates 90 percent of its electricity from hydropower.

The country is a global leader in sustainability, ranking #1 internationally in the Environmental Performance Index (EPI). A perfect escape for winter and summer enthusiasts alike, the Alpine mountains cover a whopping 65 percent of the country’s total surface area. From skiing to vast hiking trails and breathtaking walking routes, these scenic treks can be combined with a swim in one of Switzerland’s 1,500 lakes and rivers.
