Cynthia McFadden is senior legal and investigative correspondent at NBC News. Her work has been recognized with journalism's most coveted awards including 16 Emmy nominations and 3 wins; two Overseas Press Club Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Award, the Peabody and Loeb award. She was also honored with the Matrix Award as an outstanding woman in broadcasting. Much of her reporting has involved covering humanitarian crises and human rights abuses both in the U.S. and around the world taking her to Madagascar, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Cuba, China, India, Israel, South Africa, Liberia, Rwanda, and Sierra Leone. She has interviewed Presidents and prisoners, movie stars and moguls and many regular folk. She’s not saying who’s the toughest. Prior to NBC, she spent two decades at ABC News where for ten years she co-anchored Nightline. A summa cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College, the college presented her with an honorary degree in 2013. She received her JD from Columbia University.
